Privacy Policy
How we handle personal information when you visit valoirgames.com or play our games. We collect as little as we can.
1. Who we are
Valoir Games, the Valoir Gaming Station at valoirgames.com and our games, including Bangla Bus Rush (together, the "Services"), are operated by Valoir Agency Inc. ("Valoir", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in Canada with its office in Toronto, Ontario. Valoir is responsible for the personal information described in this policy and is the "controller" of it under the GDPR.
Our Privacy Officer is accountable for how we handle personal information and can be reached at hello@valoirgames.com.
2. The short version
- You can play without an account, and we do not ask for your name, email or age to play.
- Your game progress and settings are saved in your own browser, on your device. They are not sent to us.
- We do not show ads, and we do not use analytics or advertising cookies, trackers or third-party SDKs.
- We never sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
- If we ever add something optional, such as analytics, ads or accounts, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
3. What we collect
Saved on your device, not sent to us
Our games use your browser's local storage to keep your coins, upgrades, unlocked maps, best scores and settings, and the website uses it to remember small display choices. This stays on your device and you can erase it at any time on our Delete my data page. Details are on our Cookies and local storage page.
Technical data when you visit
Like every website, our servers receive technical information to deliver pages and keep the Services secure: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes this for us. We use it only to run and protect the Services and to fix errors, not to build a profile of you.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write to us, so that we can answer.
Leaderboards and cloud saves
Some games may offer online leaderboards or a backup of your progress. When you use these features, the game creates a random player ID on your device and sends us that ID, the nickname you choose, your run results (such as score, distance, map and coins) and your saved progress. We do not need your real name for this, so please choose a nickname that does not identify you. We filter nicknames for abuse and can remove any entry.
What we do not collect
We do not collect payment details, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or advertising identifiers. Our games are free. If we later sell anything inside a game, payment will be handled by the app store or payment provider under their own privacy policies, and we will update this policy before that happens.
4. Why we use it
| Purpose | Information | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Run the games and the website, and remember your progress | Local storage on your device, technical data | Performing our agreement with you (our Terms) |
| Leaderboards and progress backup | Player ID, nickname, run results, saved progress | Performing our agreement with you |
| Security, preventing cheating and abuse, fixing bugs | Technical data, run results | Our legitimate interest in keeping the Services safe and fair |
| Answering your messages and requests | Email and message content | Our legitimate interest in replying to you, or a legal obligation for privacy requests |
| Meeting legal obligations | Any of the above, only as needed | Legal obligation |
Under Canadian law, we rely on your consent, which you give by using the Services after being informed by this policy. You may withdraw it at any time, although some features will then stop working. We only use personal information for the purposes listed here, or for new purposes you agree to.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who process it for us under contract, and only as needed to run the Services:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): website hosting, content delivery, security, our database and email forwarding.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of players, the public or Valoir, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, in which case this policy will continue to protect it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
The fonts and the 3D engine our games use are served from our own website, so loading a game does not send your information to font or code providers.
6. Where it is processed
We are based in Canada. Cloudflare operates a worldwide network, so your information may be processed in Canada, the United States and other countries whose laws may differ from those where you live, and where courts and authorities may be able to access it. When personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is transferred, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and our provider's data processing terms. Canada is recognised by the European Commission as providing adequate protection.
7. How long we keep it
- Local storage on your device stays until you delete it or clear your browser data.
- Technical data in server and security logs is kept for a short period, generally no more than 30 days, unless needed to investigate abuse.
- Leaderboard entries and progress backups are kept while the game is online, and deleted on request. Weekly leaderboards are reset, but individual results may be kept to rank all-time scores and detect cheating.
- Emails are kept for up to two years after our last exchange, unless we need them longer for a legal reason.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere, restrict access to our backoffice to authorised staff, and collect as little as we can. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
9. Children
Our games are made for a general audience. They are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in their country, which is up to 16 in parts of Europe). Our games can be played without giving us any personal information.
Leaderboard features ask only for a nickname. If you are under that age, please do not enter a nickname or contact us without a parent or guardian. If a parent or guardian believes their child has given us personal information, please write to hello@valoirgames.com and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete;
- have it deleted;
- receive it in a portable format;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- complain to a data protection authority, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, your provincial commissioner, the authority where you live in the EU, or the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
To use any of these rights, see our Delete my data page or email hello@valoirgames.com. Because we do not ask who you are, we may need details such as your leaderboard nickname to find your information, and we may ask for reasonable proof that it is yours. We reply within 30 days. There is no charge, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
11. California residents
In the last 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information as described above: identifiers (IP address, player ID, nickname, email if you write to us), internet activity (technical data) and game activity (run results and saved progress). We collect them from you and your device, for the business purposes in section 4, and we disclose them only to the service provider in section 5. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information. You may make requests yourself or through an authorised agent. We honour Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of sale and sharing, although we do neither.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, for example before we add analytics, advertising or accounts, we will tell you on the website or in the game before it takes effect and ask for your consent where required.
